AMD’s up-and-coming release of the new Ryzen series processor has excited the tech world – leaving competitor Intel to slash prices on their newest line of processors. Advanced Micro Devices has already sold out (pre-orders) the Ryzen Series processor at multiple retail locations. The Ryzen processors unleash an era of competition for Intel that has been missing for quite sometime. The processor giant has, until now, been unmatched. With the release of the Ryzen 7 coming on Tuesday, the Intel team has started slashing prices.
What Makes the Ryzen so Desirable?
I had to ask, “What makes the Ryzen such a hyped processor?”. I soon learned that the next generation of AMD processors are going to be quite the powerhouses. They feature massive caches, up to 16 cores (logical), and the new Zen Core Architecture. All of this means one mean processor full of punch.
Ryzen 7 1700X vs Intel i7 -7700K
The Ryzen series 1700X looks overwhelmingly great when compared to the i7-7700K. It has double the cores and double the threads but it lacks in boost speed and integrated graphics. This can a make or break it for those who aren’t running an external form of graphics.
With the release of AMD’s new processors, we are ushered into a new era of competition. This will only make the great technology better and thus furthering our demand for more powerful equipment. I think AMD did a fantastic job with the Ryzen series processors and I can’t wait to try one out!
