Waze released in their official blog that they will be teaming up with Spotify to make navigation and music a seamless combination. No longer are the days where the navigation is stopped by the music or vice versa. But before you jump ship on your current navigation program, realize that the initial release is only for Android. An iOS version is coming, just not as soon!
Well, as Waze puts it:
That’s why today we’re excited to announce that Waze and Spotify are partnering to bring your favorite Spotify playlists directly into the Waze app. Get ready for that daily commute, upcoming cross-country road trip, weekend getaway – or even traffic jam – to turn way up.
Waze promises some great fun with your personal playlists, but what are the actual meat and potatoes of this gig?
The Waze + Spotify integration makes it easy for you to:
- Start navigating with Waze from within Spotify
- Access their Spotify playlists from within Waze
- When your car is at a complete stop, switch between apps with one tap, for an uninterrupted driving and listening experience
The big change is the switching between the two apps with one easy tap of a button. This can only happen when the car is at a complete stop. So while driving, you cannot switch between the apps (for safety and liability reasons of course).
